"The most colorful pageant of sports in film!"
A documentary about the events and athletes that marked the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. Rome had already been designated to host the Games in 1908. Due to the eruption of Vesuvius, which destroyed part of Naples, Italy decided to spend the money for the Olympic Games on rebuilding the city, leaving the honor to London, which then hosted the 1908 Games.
