"This is what war feels like"
Documentary about the same events as in Sebastian Junger's earlier film "Restrepo" (2010), but viewed from a completely different point of view and with a very different look at the experience of the war. In 2010, journalists Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington gave a look at the war in Afghanistan that is different from all previous documentaries about this war. Using footage shot during their time with the 173rd Airborne Brigade's Battle Company, they created a semi-surreal nightmare of alternating boredom and terror. Battle Company was stationed in the Korengal Valley, a remote area in eastern Afghanistan, at the time considered the “deadliest place on Earth.” Korengal discusses war experiences and how they affect soldiers on the front line.
