Klovn for Livet plot
Angus works two days a week in the pediatric oncology department of Skejby Sygehus, one of the largest teaching hospitals in Denmark. Not as a nurse or doctor, but as a clown. In the midst of injection needles, IVs and chemo treatments, he occasionally tries to make the children laugh. One of those children is six-year-old Tobias. Over the course of a year and a half, this documentary portrays the hospital life of Tobias and Angus. Their experiences provide a glimpse into the day-to-day running of this special hospital ward, where highs and lows can quickly follow each other. While Tobias battles his cancer, Angus battles the fear and despair that many children (and their parents) experience during the grueling treatments. Angus is convinced that humor increases the success rate of the treatments, but must also recognize that the young patients are completely alone in the confrontation with a life-threatening illness.
