Jan Mesdag Zingt Brel plot

The career of singer and entertainer Jan Mesdag was unstoppable in the mid-eighties. He shuttled up and down between the theaters of New York and Amsterdam. In the Netherlands he appeared on important stages and performed with well-known artists. But then he got sick. Infected with the HIV virus, which was still a mystery at the time. There was no cure yet, and young Mesdag was facing certain death. He still had one wish: to sing songs by Jacques Brel. However, now that he was about to die, everyone was behind his plan to record a CD of Brel songs. In the documentary, friends, colleagues and family speak about Mesdag, who died in 1988. About his talent and ambition. About his illness and the fulfillment of his last wish.
