Jan Bons - Ontwerpen in Vrijheid plot
Graphic designer Jan Bons is best known to the general public for his striking posters for theater group De Appel and IDFA. Torn and drawn letters and bright colors characterize his posters and wall paintings as well as his stamp designs. Fellow designer Lex Reitsma followed the almost ninety-year-old while making posters for the Nieuw Ensemble and for the IDFA. Bons talks about his way of working, his relationship with Gerrit Rietveld and Willem Sandberg and his role in the war. In addition, Bons' sons Joël and Jeroen, stage director Erik Vos, designer and poster collector Gielijn Escher, art historian Paul Hefting and curator Carolien Glazenburg will speak.
