Jade Green Station plot
In 1910 the Chinese built a train connection between the Chinese province of Yunnan and Vietnam on behalf of the French. The sleepy village of Bise (Jade) suddenly became a lively stopover. Director Yu Jian observes the daily bustle between the railway tracks, which are populated by merchants, candy sellers, passengers and railway officials. The past always remains visible to the good viewer. In this way, Bise also becomes a meeting place for modern China and the ancient Chinese empire where nothing seems to have changed.
