Invoking Justice plot
In southern India, family issues are overseen by the local Jamaat, a male Muslim advisory council that investigates and negotiates with families, law enforcement and law enforcement. Women are never part of such a process. Even if they are one of the main characters in the family matter, they are represented by men. Not infrequently, a judgment turns out badly for women. In 2004 a group of courageous women founded their own Jamaat group to support their gender. The filmmaker follows their work through some complicated family law issues, from a divorce petition to murder cases.
