Into the Light plot
AIDS still kills 6,500 every day in Africa. Tanzania is one of the most affected countries in the world with 1.4 million people infected with HIV. Teacher and sociologist Mama Lyimo is surprised that years of education have still not paid off. To find an explanation, she sets out on a 40-day tour to map the epidemic in her home country. With a smile and a striking openness, she talks to fishing communities, meets the Masai, discusses with priests, visits schools and various organizations that take care of the thousands of AIDS orphans who now number the country.
