Alberto and Natalino are two elderly men who once fought with their comrade Silurino at the Partisans in Piedmont. Alberto befriends Umberto; an elderly man confined to a wheelchair. During their conversations, Alberto realizes that Umberto is the fascist officer responsible for the execution of his friend Silurino. Alberto contacts Natalino and together they decide to make Umberto pay for his deed.
