Hyaku-nen to Kibo plot
One Hundred Years and Hope goes beyond partisan politics and broadens the dialogue about the deep-rooted Japanese patriarchal and neoliberal values of 'old men' – ossan. The political left opposes this, determined as it is to fight for political change by proposing and implementing concrete, modest actions that promote social and gender equality. The ambition to loosen the grip on the power of the LDP, which has lasted more than fifty years, appears to be a slow, difficult struggle. Yet a new Japan seems possible for each of the candidates.
