Horses plot

"A year in the life of three charismatic racehorses."

Horse racing culture has produced some of the best athletes in the world in Ireland. This documentary shows us the lives of three of them during one difficult racing season. However, the focus is not on the jockeys and trainers, but on the horses themselves. The protagonists turn out to be less reserved than you might expect and as we watch them train, rest, and race, their characters are unmistakable. The film explores the ancient human interest in horses and offers subtle social critique of the idiosyncrasies of those around them.
