Himalaya, le Chemin du Ciel plot

Documentary about the 'road to heaven' of a young Indian monk-to-be. Kenrap is eight years old and has been living away from his family for three years in the Buddhist monastic monastery of Phukthal, in the mountains of Zanskar. He fills his days with work and prayer. Well winter, Kenrap, who is believed to be the reincarnation of a 68-year-old monk, leaves the monastery with a group of monks for a month-long hike through the mountains. Their purpose of travel: to visit the various villages in the region to pray for abundance in each house. Marianne Chaud follows their grueling journey along mountain paths at dizzying heights and along frozen rivers, through an enchanting but merciless landscape.
