High School II plot
In 1968, documentary filmmaker Wiseman made a depressing picture of life at an American high school with High School. As an example, he chose the North East High School in Philadelphia. Twenty-five years later he felt the need to make a sort of sequel to this, but he didn't want to go to the same school. So he selected Central Park East Secondary School in Spanish Harlem, New York. In this school it is customary to talk extensively about each other's problems. All topics are covered, ranging from why a particular boy has done something, to how a 15-year-old pregnant girl should approach motherhood, why someone thinks he's funny, the meaning of political activism and you name it. There is so much palaver that one wonders when one will get to education.
