Wonderful images of horses, people and nature in equally wonderful, imaginative storylines.

Cinematographically a gem, but human feelings, including passion for the animal, are central.

For a moment I thought I discovered a red line, namely the punishment of human failures and flaws (feelings of revenge, gluttony, wrath, rashness, hypocrisy...) but the closing scenes indicate a certain optimism and togetherness much more than anything else.

Superb music.

As said before, quite different and also much more beautiful than the flat fare that is unleashed en masse on us.

A nice Icelandic western with an absurdist slant: we follow a few people in a village whose life revolves entirely around horses and booze and where the constant fencing and literally reining in of the horses naturally symbolizes the still unbridled people themselves who, after all, cannot control their urges. seem to be able to keep under control, resulting in absurd situations, and who thus struggle with their own civilization

Satirical film about the harmony, nuja, rather the coexistence, of horse and man in Iceland. A fairly fragmentary approach, because there is no real story or plot behind it. Rather some sketches in which one event is slightly extended to the next. Strange scenes sometimes on the verge (on and over) of absurd.

The movie poster alone, but it continues from a swimming horse in search of vodka to a hilarious tractor ride across the barbed wire scene. Sometimes the horse “wins”, sometimes the human. However, both are condemned to each other. The combination with the vast wild landscapes is successful. The soundtrack keeps running through my head with one of those galloping horses in the background.

Humor and sadness together. Fortunately, at the end, the director points out that no horse was injured. That in itself is also a funny approach. Nice!
