Higgs plot

Higgs is a documentary about the search for the Higgs boson. CERN, the physics laboratory on the border between France and Switzerland, is preparing the largest research project in history: the most powerful particle accelerator ever. Thousands of scientists from around the world are working together to search for the Higgs boson; Also known as 'The God Particle'. The 'missing link' from particle physics. It's a search for a needle in a million haystacks. The film follows professor Stan Bentvelsen, program leader of the Dutch research group at CERN. How he prepares his team for the start of the experiment. And on the scientific competition to be the first to find Higgs. Peter Higgs, the Scottish physicist after whom the particle is named, also explains how he made his groundbreaking discovery in the summer of 1964.
