Hidden Faces plot

The journalist Safaa Fathay returns to her motherland Egypt after ten years, for an interview with the popular writer Nawal El Saadawi. She not only visits a number of projects that El Saadawi has set up, but also her family in the traditional south of Egypt. There she tries to find answers that she has not received from the writer, much to her disappointment. Her mother, aunts, nieces and friends make it clear where women stand in current Egyptian society.
