Het Galgenven plot
Photographer Anna Smeets makes reports all over the world. When her mother dies unexpectedly, she returns to her native village in Limburg for the funeral. She decides to live in her mother's studio, on the edge of the Galgenven, to take pictures – in the spirit of her mother's paintings – of the unique nature around it, the village and its inhabitants. While Anna tries to find herself in this unique area full of beautiful memories, it appears that part of nature and everything around it will have to make way for project developers who have large-scale plans in the region. When she hears that farmers, including her father Jeu, are also under pressure, she decides to resist. A fierce battle ensues between Anna and the landowner Hyacint De Beaumont.
