Hartmut Haenchen - De Hemel Boven Dresden plot

Conductor Hartmut Haenchen was almost two years old when his city of Dresden went up in flames under a colossal Allied bombardment on 13 February 1945. Growing up among the ruins, he managed to develop his musical talent in the GDR, but the Stasi kept an eye on him. A childhood political sin haunted him and he would have never become a top international conductor. More than thirty years later, Haenchen, who has lived in the Netherlands since 1986, is allowed to view his Stasi files. He makes astounding discoveries.
