Free Spirits plot
When the American Basketball Association was dissolved in 1976, four ABA teams joined the NBA: the Nets, Nuggets, Pacers, and Spurs. But one of the weirder teams found another way to secure its future. 'Free Spirits' tells the colorful story of the Spirits of St. Louis, an entertaining and sometimes controversial team. They managed to beat the defending champions in the play-offs in their first season. As the team was on the brink of disintegration, co-owners Daniel and Ozzie Silna managed to negotiate a contract that would allow the team to continue to exist in the future in a very unusual way.
