Fest of Duty plot

As a hall full of chattering Iranian schoolgirls don lilac robes and white headscarves, an imam explains that now they are nine years old, they have reached the "age of duty". According to Islam, that is when puberty begins, with all the associated religious precepts. The carefree life is over. On the instructions of the imam, the girls obediently say in which situations they should or should not wear the headscarf. The scenes with this ceremony at school were shot in 2005. Eight years later, the filmmaker visits two of the nine-year-olds at the time.
