Eyes of Stone plot

Nineteen-year-old Shanta was married off at the age of ten to truck driver NandaLal, ten years her senior. She became a mother when she was 12, lost a child and now has two sons. She has been seriously ill for more than half of her married life: she suffers from severe headaches, body aches, fever, lack of appetite and listlessness. Neither doctors nor shamans were able to cure her. But now that she lives with her parents again, she makes a precious weekly pilgrimage to the temple of the goddess Bhankya Mata, the powerful "mother" who can chase away the "evil look" of the "dakan" who has her in her power. But what if her husband comes to get her again to return to her normal life?
