Expedition Volcano plot

The Nyiragongo in the Democratic Republic of Congo has erupted twice in the past 50 years, the last time in 2002, when the nearby city of Goma was completely destroyed. The volcano is located in a region ravaged by war and humanitarian crises, making research into the Nyiragongo seriously difficult. Former naval officer Aldo Kane must ensure the safety of the investigation team. While a team of scientists assesses the current state of the volcano - making some daring descents into the crater - Xand van Tulleken examines the health effects of the people living in the shadow of the immense volcano.
