Empire of Evil plot

Iran has 70 million inhabitants, of which 14 million live in the capital Tehran. When monarch Reza Pahlevi was overthrown by religious leader Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979, Iran became an Islamic republic. Since then, strict monitoring has been carried out to ensure that Islamic laws are observed by the population. Iran is often seen as a supporter of terrorism, according to the makers. But who are those inhabitants of 'The Empire of Evil'? The filmmakers follow various women, men and a child in their daily lives. They all have dreams that are not in line with the regulations in their country. Their lives are exposed through interviews and childhood photos.
