El Primer Año plot

This documentary is an account of the twelve months after the election of Chile's first socialist president, Salvador Allende. Director Patricio Guzmán travels across the country . The workers he meets no longer have to submit to the whims of bosses. He also comes into contact with fishermen hoping to be freed from predatory capitalist middlemen and indigenous people who are rising up to reclaim their land.
