Eisheimat plot

Germany in 1949, after World War II. The country is in ruins and many women have no perspective whatsoever. Then the 'Association of Icelandic Peasants' places an advertisement in the newspapers of northern Germany: "Farm workers from Germany wanted!" And it works. 238 women move to the unknown island in the North Atlantic to work on a farm. Six of these women (Anita, Ursula, Harriet, Anna, Uschi and Ilse) report on their setbacks, experiences and decisions from the years they spent there.
