Eight Days a Week plot

Gerrit van Dijk's (1938) animation films are renowned all over the world and have won several (inter)national prizes. Van Dijk was initially a painter, a vocation that quickly ended when he purchased a double-8 camera with a single-image button. “Eight Days a Week” is not only a portrait of this idiosyncratic filmmaker, but also closely follows the process of creating his animation film “Ik Beweeg, dus Ik Besta” (I Move so I Am) (1997).
