Edgar Allan Poe: Master of the Macabre plot

Documentary about the American writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe. He also worked as a literary critic and editor and was one of the first American writers to try to make a living from writing, which left him struggling. Edgar Poe was born in Boston to the traveling actor couple Elizabeth and David Poe, who both died before he was three years old. Poe was taken in by John Allan, a successful businessman from Richmond. He was not officially adopted, but took Allan as his middle name.
