Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, many Russian and Eastern European films have surfaced, but the fact that some forty dazzling socialist musicals were also made behind the Iron Curtain has until now only been known to a small circle. Until now, because the documentary East Side Story shows countless beautiful fragments that have never been seen in the West before.
