Disco plot
In the documentary Disco, Leo Blokhuis goes in search of the origin and secret of disco. He talks to DJs from New York who changed club culture in the early 1970s. He interviews R&B and soul legends who scored hits without realizing that their music would later become part of the disco. Also speaking are the Rolling Stones and the band KISS, who consciously piggybacked on the success and started making disco records. But above all, he speaks to artists who consciously shaped and defined disco in the mid-seventies: Nile Rodgers of CHIC, Kool & the gang, KC & the Sunshine Band, Earl Young of The Trammps, DJ Nicky Siano, producers Jean-Marc Cerrone and Giorgio Moroder. , and finally, of course, the Queen of Disco: Donna Summer.
