Die Hüter der Tundra plot
In Russia, just north of the Arctic Circle, is the last remaining village of Russian Sami reindeer herders. In this idyllic region filled with wooden houses with fireplaces, snow-covered pine trees and ice fountains, breeders regularly gather to celebrate the 'Feast of the North'. They then organize reindeer races. But their existence and the traditional cultural heritage of the reindeer herders are under threat from international companies seeking to exploit the rich grazing land of the Tundra for the raw material market. And so the village must be evacuated. But Sascha, a young mother who is part of a newly formed parliament, passionately fights back against the powerful industry, to save the village and preserve the impressive local nature.
