Die 727 Tage ohne Karamo plot

Mosaic about binational couples in Austria. Strict immigration laws force partners to live separately from each other. Others suffer greatly from bureaucratic red tape or work to the bone to keep their foreign partner. An Austrian woman has been forced to live alone with her two children for almost two years since her husband was deported to Africa overnight. Over the phone, a man tries to encourage his Chinese wife by assuring her that she will be allowed to return to Vienna. Others talk about the long wait for a residence permit, the incessant flow of documents to be submitted, the compulsory German lessons and unexpected home visits from the immigration service.
