Det Røde Kapel plot
"Looking for laughs in North Korea?"
Looking for laughs in North Korea. The Red Chapel is the account of a bizarre expedition. Born in Korea and adopted as children, Danish comedians Jacob and Simon, along with manager Mads Brügger, are given permission to perform a variety number in Pyongyang as part of cultural exchange. In the voice-over, Brügger can explain his intentions, point out the dark sides of this regime and give his interpretation of the tears at Kim Il-Sung's monument. Without the dismayed Danes being able to do much about it, they are used for propaganda purposes and a North Korean director gives their performance a different twist.
