Delta Phase I plot

Zeeland, where the water sometimes proved stronger than the dikes. After the flood disaster in 1953, the damming of the Zeeland islands was started. First up was the Veerse Gat. A blessing for the safety of the Zeelanders and their connection with the rest of the Netherlands, but disastrous for the people who depended on the sea, such as the Veerse fishermen.
