The Netherlands was the very first country in the world to introduce a euthanasia law. The starting point of 'The battle for the end' is the Postma case in 1973. The enormous indignation at the prosecution of a doctor who granted euthanasia to her mother was the prelude to the introduction of the law, almost thirty years later. Politicians, doctors, lawyers and those involved tell their story unbelievably candid. Such as activist Klazien Sybrandy-Alberda, the very first advocate of voluntary euthanasia.
