De Onrendabelen plot

Until the early 1980s, our welfare state was based on the idea that everyone, regardless of origin and abilities, has the right to a dignified existence. While prosperity for the majority increased considerably, those left behind were placed at an increasing disadvantage. The result was that an increasingly large group could not provide for themselves independently: they became 'unprofitable'. In economic terms, unprofitable people cost more than they earn.
