De Hoofdvrouw plot

When Marijke is eight years old, her mother leaves the family to join the "Gemeente Gods", a sect in South Holland. A few years later, her mother is arrested for sexually abusing young children. Marijke has not seen her mother in 30 years. She is now a mother of three children herself and wants to come to terms with her history. In 'De Hoofdvrouw', Marijke battles her troubled past.
