De Dansande Andarnas Skog plot
Akaya is heavily pregnant and worried. Her first child died at birth, and if that happens again, efforts will be made to convince her husband to divorce her. Children are very important to the Aka, a pygmy tribe in the rainforest of the Congo Basin. Their way of life, their rituals, their myths and legends and their personal dramas are the subject of this documentary. As the camera captures everyday activities, one of the village elders talks about the origins of the Aka, and how the god Komba – not the creator, but the discoverer of the world – brought the women and the men together.
