Das Lied der Ströme plot

Film fresco around the third congress of the World Trade Union Confederation, which mainly involved Moscow-affiliated trade unions from 80 countries and which met in October 1953 in Vienna. The theme of the film is based on the six great rivers of the earth, the Amazon, the Nile, the Mississippi, the Yangtze, the Ganges and the Volga, cradle of many cultures, with on its banks the struggle of the labor movement against exploitation , poverty and oppression, as the seventh stream on earth. The film is further structured along musical lines, each part of a river is preceded by a verse, the song of the streams.
