Dansaren plot
Director Donya Feuer, former dancer and choreographer and director of The Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm since 1966, met the then twelve-year-old Katja Björner in the winter of 1985-1986. Katja was beautiful, bright, vulnerable, unpretentious perfectionist and eye-catchingly talented. For the film Donya had in mind, Katja turned out to be the ideal 'material'. In September 1987 she started filming with The Royal Swedish Ballet, when Katja was thirteen years old. In 1992, when Katja started an international career at the age of seventeen with the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, she made the last recordings.
