Cucumber Salad plot

In 1992 the Groningen dance company Reflex engaged the high-profile Berlin film director Rosa von Praunheim as an occasional choreographer. “Cucumber Salad” was the working title of this performance, which was never to be staged. After almost four months of work and preparation, von Praunheim and Reflex decided to end the collaboration. The documentary observes Roza von Praunheim, Patrizia Tuerlings (artistic director of Reflex) and dancer Dietmar Janeck during their meetings and rehearsals in Groningen and Berlin. It soon becomes apparent that the views of the dancers and the choreographer differ dramatically. A film about an unbridgeable chasm between two worlds.
