Corso: The Last Beat plot
The childhood of Gregory Corso, one of the most influential poets of all time, did not suggest that he would later acquire such a prominent position in literary society. His mother is 16 years old when Corso is born and she leaves the family a year after his birth. This heralds a period in which Corso often finds shelter with foster families and in orphanages. However, he keeps running away and his career as a petty criminal eventually leads to a three-year sentence for theft. An important change in Corso's life takes place at Clinton State Prison. He gets to know literature and develops a preference for poetry.
