Compadre plot
In 1974, Swedish photographer Mikael Wiström travels through Peru. While taking pictures at a garbage dump, he is approached by a young man with a body deformed by polio. A special friendship develops between this Daniel Barrientos and the photographer. Compadre was made in 2003, almost thirty years after the first meeting between the two men. The filmmaker not only records the daily life of Daniel's family, but also makes the viewer aware of the great dilemma of the Western, wealthy filmmaker who is confronted with great poverty. An existential inequality that puts a lot of pressure on the friendship.
