Chaumière plot
The Formula 1 hotels are establishments that are labeled as dirt cheap, suburban platitudes: a low-cost way to inhabit the world. Behind the doors of the room, the uniformity of space, limited to its strict functional minimum, exposes the tensions inherent in every human life: permanent residence and nomadism, extravagance and restraint, routine and survival. Emmanuel Marre is someone for whom this kind of hotel has always been an integral part of the highway landscape. During his childhood, on his way to the holiday destination, his parents stopped there, leaving behind striking memories with mixed feelings of excitement and fear. The fascination generated by this experience prompted him to realize this film, in which the protagonist is a place.
