Castanha plot

The 52-year-old actor and performance artist João Carlos Castanha, spends the night in small theaters and gay bars. During the day he shares a small bourgeois apartment with his mother Celina. João is sick, tired and decrepit and yet he celebrates life. His great love has died of AIDS, but Jão has not yet lost his sense of humor, even though he is increasingly haunted by ghosts from the past. The many facets of the man can be seen in his skills as a transvestite in the complex environments in which he resides.
