Cairo Jazzman plot

Amr Salah, himself a jazz pianist, is an enthusiastic promoter of music. He organizes the Cairo Jazz Festival every year, but says of himself that he is not a festival director: he is first and foremost a musician and enthusiast. In this documentary, people from Salah's immediate environment talk about his enthusiasm, such as fellow musicians and his proud parents. It is striking that jazz in Egypt attracts a young audience and thus marks the gap with the older generation that is in power in the country. The authorities therefore hardly support Salah's jazz festival. The film follows him in the run-up to the festival, with various small and bigger problems looming.
