Bruno Morassutti, Theme and Variations plot

Bruno Morassutti was a refined, intellectually rigorous, yet underappreciated architect in postwar Italy. A former student of Giuseppe Samonà and Carlo Scarpa, and one of the few Italians to have studied under Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin, Morassutti infused his work with a strong cosmopolitan sensibility. His early travels through the United States, where he studied the works of Wright, Neutra, and Mies van der Rohe, led to his lifelong interest in experimenting with structure and prefabrication.
