Broken Dykes plot

John Fernhout filmed the liberation of the Netherlands in 1944-1945, following in the footsteps of the Allied troops. In the documentary, the filmmaker shows the liberation of the island of Walcheren, which was flooded by the Allies with bombardments on the dykes to chase the Germans away. He also shows the hardships of the people on the flooded island.
