Born Dead plot
Robert Jurczyga is twenty-three and has been in prison since he was fifteen – the reason is not disclosed. He becomes a participant in the Duet rehabilitation program set up by the prison and a shelter for the mentally handicapped in Krakow. He works there during the day, especially with children and young people. Many of them cannot speak; one boy continuously waves plastic bags, another silently comes to take a closer look at everything. Communication involves sign language, sounds and touch. The film switches back and forth between the two worlds in which Robert temporarily lives. And so he goes from the quiet, chilly, gray-blue prison to the busy, sunny, bright world of the shelter.
