Bobò plot
Decades ago, filmmaker Pippo Delbono met Bobò in a psychiatric institution in southern Italy: a small, deaf, and illiterate man who had barely been seen as a human being there for 46 years. Delbono "rescued" Bobò and incorporated him into his modern theater company, full of dance, improvisation, and music. Pippo Delbono paints this portrait largely through stage recordings, always with Bobò as the protagonist and filmed over a period of twenty years. We also see the vivacious Bobò outside the theater; dancing on the beach, honking into a megaphone, and connecting with his fellow human beings in a unique, poetic way.
