"The woman behind the smile."

This documentary focuses on one of the most influential and iconic women of the twentieth century: Mary Tyler Moore. She shaped the image of the modern American woman with her appearances on 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' and 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show'. She became a household name for independent working women. Behind the scenes, Moore struggled with the tragic deaths of her sister and her son, a miscarriage and diabetes. Despite her struggles, she remained optimistic and found much joy in her later years with her third husband, Dr. Robert Levine, and her animals that she tended on her sprawling estate in Greenwich, Connecticut.
